Grand Tour

The reunion couldn't have happened without the help of the head janitor, Mack Devries. He is the nicest, most humble guy around and he's the son of the former janitor Carl Devries. Carl retired when we were in 1st or 2nd grade so you might not remember him. Well, his son is now taking care of good ole Valley Elementary and doing a fine job.

Before the reunion began he gave us a tour of the basement below the gym. We saw the big boiler that used to use coal to heat the place. It was impressive to say the least.


The coolest part of the tour was seeing hundreds of names written on the walls. Many of them were written in the 2000's, but there are some on there from the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's and yes 80's. We had to look hard, but we found a name from our class. See for yourself!
